Description:
Abstract:
This data release contains one table of data from a two-year study of Greater White-fronted Goose (Anser albifrons frontalis) molting ecology conducted in the Teshekpuk Lake Special Area within the National Petroleum Reserve – Alaska in 2012 and 2013.
Purpose:
The overall purpose of the study was to examine habitat use and movement patterns of greater white-fronted geese during, and immediately following, the flightless remigial feather molt. Birds were captured early in the flightless period and marked with GPS position recording data loggers attached to standard neck collars. This dataset contains all of the GPS locations recorded during the flightless molt and the period immediately following molt of geese that were marked with GPS units.
